Batangas Province Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc.

Hello to everyone. I am presently the Executive Director (Secretary-General) of BPCCI, so I decided to do this site for our group and for our network. We have the www.batangaschamber.com website .... courtesy of Digital Webgroup Inc., but there are so many things going on in Batangas and a site where we can post announcements, events and pictures became necessary.
I may not know everything, but maybe I would know who and where to ask...... and I am always willing to help. We can help with your business registration processes and many other local concerns.
As membership in BPCCI is for registered business owners and their representatives only, one of our Projects in Batangas is forming a group for the rank-and-file, workers and management called Philippine Action for Socially Responsible Development for CSR initiatives (PASeD-CSR) of Batangas stakeholders. Individual Membership is P250.00 per annum.
We are also working on getting the certification from the International Labour Organization as Trainers of Generating Your Business Idea and Starting Your Business Programs. Refer to: www.philippinechamber.com Philippine Chamber Development Institute - Speakers Bureau
For a small donation to BPCCI, we can facilitate your Family Welfare in the Workplace Program, Team-building and Productivity, MSME Mentoring and Marketing which we were trained for courtesy of World Bank, GTZ, USAID, AOTS (Japan) and UPISSI among others. We also have members who run training programs like AG & P, WISE in Lipa for Welding, Efren Gutierrez for Scaffolding and other TESDA Accredited Training Programs.
MEMBERSHIP Dues for BPCCI is P2,000 per year for Regular Members and P5,000 for Corporate or Sustaining Members. Membership is open to those whose business/es are registered in Batangas or those whose business enterprises are registered elsewhere but has business dealings within the province. Please help us sustain our programs by your continued membership. Send us an e-mail for (new) membership application forms .

Greetings ! This is to inform everyone that we have decided not to participate in the Batangas Province Foundation Week Trade Fair and Exhibits in Calaca this year. -- the Trade Fair and Exhibits will run from December 1 to 8, 2011 -- the hours will be from 10 am up to 10 pm -- this has been decided in a meeting of the Batangas League of Mayors headed by Calaca Mayor Sofronio C. Ona Jr. In view of the above, it has become impossible for us to continue to invite participants in this Trade Fair and Exhibits which will be mainly tiangge style featuring local products. In the past, we have brought in Franchisors and partners from other provinces of Luzon and Metro Manila because they can manage to leave their offices and headquarters and man their trade fair exhibits and selling areas during the weekend. They also thought that "going to Batangas" for a weekend of "work combined with fun" is a great idea. Many new franchises and branch offices have sprung up in the province due to our past efforts. The long dates of the exhibits will - in effect - paralyze many weekday operations which companies can barely afford, even with mobile phones and laptops - (we are not sure about the state of wi-fi in Calaca). The hours make it impossible for us. There is no public transportation in the area after 7pm and with the cost of gasoline, it will be impossible to drive there everyday just to exhibit. The cost of renting or arranging for accommodations in a nearby resort casts doubts on the profitability/expense of putting up an exhibit at all. After all, 7 days x the amount of per night accommodation for 2 to 3 staff is a considerable amount even for a profitable enterprise. These are the reasons why we decided not to participate. Broker - provide/ offer properties for lease that can accommodate 400-500 call center agents. Property listing with details like area, handover condition, lease period, monthly rental rate, escalation rate, rent free period, lease commencement period, security deposit, parking spaces, utilities, etc. The properties has to be PEZA certified/ accredited building. We need 5-10 properties to evaluate and please send us the foot print, pictures and brief description of the properties.

2. Telco Representative – someone who has the technical knowledge on the available providers, connectivity, routing scheme, backup/redundancy, technology in place and among others.

3. Academe Representative – will discuss on English language proficiency of the potential candidates, number of graduates annually, annual enrollees, number school / universities , courses with most graduates.

4. Chamber of Commerce Representative – someone that will educate us on how to do business in Batangas City, Existing locators, BPO success rate, locator challenges and how it is being addressed, etc.

5. Local Government Unit Representative – someone that will discuss us on LGU support and incentive if any, PESO assistance, discuss on power supply/rate, LGU Regulations for BPO’s, etc.

Thanks for the greeting! Perhaps your group might be interested in sponsoring the screening of my indie film "Barako" that featured among the world premieres of Cinemalaya last year. The film's approach is rather sociological, not your common action or drama. We really need the support of everybody. I hope I could arrange a film showing sponsored by your group, preferably to people with open and rather more mature outlook (in short, people who think). They'll learn many things about society, people, politics and what more they need to really enjoy democracy. The cast includes two great Batangueño personalities, namely National Artist Bienvenido Lumbera and veteran actor/director Leo Martinez. As of now, it hasn't been circulated yet since Cinemalaya. I really need the funds for subtitling and eventual international exposure of the film.
